The second edition of ImagineiT has arrived!
The second edition of the International conference, Imagine iT, opens its doors to design proposals tied to the idea of “design for all” and to projects that express the concept of “good design enables, bad design disables”.
The first edition welcomed a total of 35 speakers from 15 different countries, five shows and five workshops. Also in attendance were graphic design historians, leaders in contemporary communication, and scholars of the international arena.
This year’s theme was Design for All, design that celebrates the diversity of humanity through social inclusion and equality. This innovative and holistic approach to design presented ethical and creative challenges for the organizers, designers, entrepreneurs, administrators and political leaders.
The idea of Design for All is about enabling everyoneto have equal opportunity to participate in every facet of society. To achieve such an objective, infrastructure, everyday objects, services, culture and information, everything that was created by man for man, needs to be accessible and convenient for anyone in society. The final goal being to use and sympathize with these objects for the development of human diversity.
The event utilized literature, shows and workshops with the participation of international collaborators stemming from all different areas of the creative industry: graphic designers, product designers, artists, scientists, business people in the medical sector working with packaging and product design, editors and publishers, teachers, researchers, students, and those that just began their professional careers.
The conference boasted an array of excellent speakers including: Finn Petrén, President EIDD Design for All Europe, Sweden; Pete Kercher, Ambassador EIDD Design for All Europe, Gran Bretagna/Italy; Aleksandar Bogdanovic, CRID (Inclusive Society Development Center), Serbia; Luciano Perondi, designer, teacher ISIA Urbino, Italia; Matthew Harrison, RCA Helen Hamlyn Centre, UK; Hannu Kähönen, Creadesign, Finland; Avril Accolla, Avrildesign, VicePresident EIDD Design for All Europe, Italy; Giulio Iacchetti, designer, Italy; Andrea Stella, Spirito di Stella, Italy.
